Enter & View Hillcroft Nursing & Care Home August 2024
We have been working with the Care Quality Partnership to identify care and nursing homes to visit throughout the year, with a view to listen to the experiences of residents and relatives.
Summary
We visited Hillcroft Nursing and Care Home in August 2024 to speak to residents and their families to discover what life is like for the people who live there. We were pleased to discover that residents and their loved ones know where to go if they have concerns and that Hillcroft actively responds to their concerns and recommendations.
Key findings
- Most people felt the staff were caring.
- 93% of people said bedrooms were clean and comfortable.
- 100% of people said they felt safe at Hillcroft.

Update
We followed up with Hillcroft Nursing & Care Home in April 2025. They responded to the recommendations made in the initial report and let us know they are actively working to implement all the recommendations made.
This includes:

Attempting to engage residents and their relatives in creating care plans.

Seeking residents' input on their preferred activities with the Activities Coordinator

Seeking feedback with feedback forms from residents, relatives and staff.

They have displayed the complaints procedure at the front entrance.

They ask relatives to provide personal items to display in residents' rooms.
We are pleased to hear Hillcroft are listening to residents and their loved ones. We encourage them to continue to listen and provide ways to make giving feedback more accessible.
Residents at Hillcroft and their loved ones are encouraged to continue to share their experience of the service provided.
