Summary

This report explores the concept of self-care and its implications for health and wellbeing. We discovered the importance of engaging with communities, developing strong relationships, and promoting personal and collective responsibility for self-care.

Key findings

  • There is a need for increased access to self-care information.
  • People struggle to access to consistent information that helps them to make lifestyle and health choices.
  • A self-care strategy is needed that includes increasing awareness, promoting community involvement, and fostering personal and collective responsibility.

We found that self-care means something different to each person. The The biggest issue people faced with self-care was assessing consistent and reliable information from someone they trust. We encourage local services to consider a self-care strategy that works with the community and allows people to take control of their own health and wellbeing.
