Social Prescribing in the Dudley borough

We reached out to Social Prescribers from different areas within the borough so they could share their views about their service.

Summary

We found a wide range of socioeconomic barriers for local people to access services that can help them. Social Prescribers provided suggestions to improve the experiences of the community.

Key findings

  • 80% of Social Prescribers reported receiving inappropriate referrals
  • Social Prescribers recommend free local services are needed to provide opportunities
  • Social Prescribing receives a lack of support from other services

Social Prescribers were open and honest with their views on their service and the barriers faced by local people. They provided us with a view of the challenges faced by vulnerable people and suggested solutions to these challenges.
