Annual report 2025-26

Over 5000 people across Dudley borough shared their experiences of health and social care, or came to us for trusted information, in 2025-2026.
By speaking up about their experiences, our community has helped inspire real change in health and social care services.

Summary

We look over the past year of achievements in our service. Thanks to the dedication of both staff and volunteers, and the openness of our community, we have been able to shine a light on health inequalities.

By having an independent service that has oversight of both health and social care, people who are experiencing challenges getting the right support can come to one place.

Key outcomes

  • People who access Black Country Foodbanks highlighted the impact of financial hardship on their ability to access health and social care services. We have brought together cross-sector services to tackle the complex and far reaching impacts of poverty.
  • Clear advice and information has helped over 2000 people to access the right care at the right time, or provided them with the confidence to challenge services that do not meet their needs.
  • We looked at people's thoughts on the new process for managing follow-up appointments after surgery.

We want to thank everyone who contributeded their views on health and social care services this year. Together, we can help make health and social care better.

"You are so supportive, full of information, a light in the dark, there when we need help."
